The Anacreon Philosophy

The philosophy of The Anacreon, while not all that complex, signifies a great understanding of the virtual world. We believe that The Matrix is a form of protection for our race, and that its destruction could lead to worse results than its promotion. One of our goals is to learn to become one with The Matrix, and acquire an artistry of how to manipulate and take advantage of its many strengths...and weaknesses. The Anacreon follows in the footsteps of The Collective faction as a whole, and we will aid each other and our fellow crews in times of peril. I do not wish to restrict the potential of any member of this crew, thus there are no assigned positions other than Captain and XO. We will determine what skills we use and how we are to use them based on the situation, not based on pre-assignment. Similarly, this ship is not in any way limited to one type of gameplay, nor is it limited to one game. Whether you are interested in roleplaying, hardcore PvP, or the storyline in general, and whether you play The Matrix Online, Guild Wars, Battlefield 2, or any combination of the three, you have a place on this ship. I want to make this crew as versatile and well-rounded as possible.

On this ship, crew comes first, and then faction; if and when a crew member needs something, they should first ask members of the crew for assistance, and then the faction if they are not successful. Likewise, if you have something to offer, you should first offer it to the crew, and then to the faction. During live events and heavy PvP situations, the crew will be on a mission team with other Anacreon crew members only, and if there is extra room, members of other crews can join in if necessary. Our first teaming priority is with each other. This principle applies to all games.

We are not machines, we are humans that fight to protect the system they created. Failure to do so could lead to the demise of the entire human race, a precious gift that must be spared at all costs. The Anacreon, regardless of what game a situation arises in and regardless of what faces us, will fight whenever necessary to protect our cause, be it through rugged warfare or tranquil negotiation. In all games, we will continue to work together and learn to fight as both one whole unit, and as individual operatives. Ventrilo voice chat software is highly recommended to all members. Even if you don't have a mic or don't wish to speak, being able to at least listen through voice is an invaluable asset to our gaming experience.

Above all, we are a group of friends that stick together, and are part of an even larger group of friends. Our number one priority is to have fun gaming with one another, and that will never be changed. Together we will approach a fight, and together we will either claim victory and rejoice, or fall to our deaths, laugh about it, start fresh, and continue trying. Remember that, and nothing will stop us from becoming powerful.

I greatly look forward to sharpening our skills as a crew. By working together, we can define our purpose within each game we play, and become powerful in our own unique way. This is where the fine print ends; the rest is to be etched in over time by us as a crew and as a team.

Joining The Anacreon

To become a member of Hovercraft Anacreon, you must first and foremost pledge yourself to the philosophy of this ship. Also, I only want people on this ship who are going to be active in-game on a consistent basis. It doesn't matter what game you play, as long as you make an appearance and prove yourself an active part of our team. If you have viewed all other ships in the faction, and are positive that this one seems to suit you the best, please do the following:

1. Make a new thread in the Anacreon Forum titled "Application: CharName, Game" where CharName is your in-game handle, and Game is what game(s) you play. Example: Application: JacobiB, MxO/GW/BF2

2. In a few sentences, describe why you would like to join our ship, and why you think you would make a good addition to our crew.

3. Over the next few days after your application, I will try to meet with you in-game so we can "hang out" and I can get to know your playing style. I will also look around the forums a bit to see your opinions on certain topics, if any. If I feel I already know you well, I may decide upon your acceptance immediately after reading your application. It's up to you to come mesh with the group and make yourself known!

4. If I think you will make a suitable addition to The Anacreon, you will be accepted on-board. Good luck!
